JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Business Development Specialist, High School Partnerships
Type of Position: Contractor
Position Start Date: August 8, 2023
Contract Length: 6 months (high likelihood of extension)
Location: Calgary, AB (open to remote)

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Business Development Specialist role is primarily creating partnerships and promoting Colleges and Universities in High Schools.

Our ‘Business Development Specialists’ are responsible for connecting with new High Schools (primarily in the US) to establish relationships between them and Glacier to promote Colleges and Universities across North America. The successful candidate will ‘cold call’ new High School contacts over the phone and email to (1) establish a strong rapport with them so we can send an installer into their school to put up poster(s) and (2) introduce them to signing a contract (Partnership Agreement) to be a part of our High School Network.

We are looking for a confident, independent, charismatic, and organized individual who isn’t afraid to take on new challenges. They must be an excellent communicator with strong customer relations and sales skills who can quickly think on their feet.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate with High Schools, making outbound calls and sending emails to a pre-determined list of High Schools to establish signed Partnership Agreements with schools and interest in posters for clients

  • Answer questions and send additional information via email

  • Act as a representative for Glacier and NextGrad, providing superior customer service

  • Actively work with new High Schools to sustain the growth of Glacier’s High School network

  • Keep clear, and concise records of interactions with management


SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business preferred

  • 2-5 years of sales experience in an outbound call centre or related sales position preferred

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Excellent phone and cold calling skills

  • Strong listening and sales skills

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask

  • Ability to achieve targets

  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office

  • Nice to have: Experience in education

COMPENSATION

  • Office Rate: $20.75/hr CAD

  • Commission: $100/contract signed

  • Your personal cell phone plan upgrade is covered (to cover North American wide calling+Data)
